Videos and photos bring trip memories to life. I saw this one of a grizzly munching on grass at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and had to take a video. He was oblivious to all of us for a few minutes. Then, he looked around and was like “oh, them” and went back to business.
The border into Canada is closed as of this writing. The only way to get there right now is to fly into Anchorage or Fairbanks. You’ll need to rent a car or an RV to really see Alaska. This video was taken in the summer. Winter will give you a shot at seeing the Northern Lights. It’s weather dependent though. It snowed when I went last. So, I’ll have to go back.
In the meantime, I’ll remember this guy and the great work they do at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. It’s just south of Anchorage on the Kenai Peninsula. They have bears, moose, wolves, birds and so much more. They tend to them in hopes of rehabilitation. Sadly, they can’t all be released back into the wild. I believe this guy would say he has a contented home given the circumstances though. What do you think?
The video below is from my visit to the conservation center. I turned it into a giphy. It can be shared.
Bear with me…
